When a survivor performs this action, they choose a project card in their hand or faceup on the table. Craft ActionĬraft actions allow survivors to use their resources to create items. Survivors cannot look at cards in the crafted item deck until the item is crafted. However, survivors can talk about and show their cards to each other as they see fit. Project cards in a survivor's hand are kept hidden. Project cards can exist in a survivor's hand or faceup in the play area where all survivors can use them. Each project card shows the item that can be crafted as well as a resource cost, which indicates the materials needed to craft that item. Project cards provide survivors with blueprints for crafting items. If survivors cannot agree, nothing is traded, and the current survivor does not spend any stamina for this failed action. To trade, both survivors must agree to the terms of the trade (i.e., which items and resources will be changing hands). The survivor chooses one other survivor in his or her space, and the two survivors can freely exchange items, resources, and project cards. If there is a water source icon ( ) on that tile, place a facedown water source token in the space with the icon. All that matters is the icon on the token. ![]() The feature token's artwork does not need to match the space's artwork. Each token is placed facedown without revealing it. Then they draw feature tokens from the supply, placing a matching token on top of each feature icon on that map tile. To scout, the survivor chooses a map tile adjacent to their space and flips the tile faceup. Survivors cannot move onto facedown map tiles, and must first scout them. If the space has a water source or landmark, the stamina cost is based on the terrain surrounding the water source or landmark. If a space contains multiple types of terrain, the cost is determined by the terrain that covers the majority of the space. The survivor moves their figure to an adjacent space by spending stamina equal to the space's stamina cost, which is shown on the terrain reference sheet.Īfter moving, the survivor may perform one gather action in their space without spending stamina. For example, a survivor in a space with a "clean water" water source token can spend 10 stamina to perform 10 gather actions, gaining 10 clean water tokens. This water source token remains in this space for the rest of the game and provides an unlimited source of resources. When performing a gather action, the survivor does not gain the water source token and instead flips the token faceup and gains one resource token from the supply of the resource type shown on the water source token. The reference sheets show a full list of all resource types. When a survivor gains a specific resource from a card effect, the player gains a resource token (not a feature token) from the supply of unused tokens. Resource and feature tokens next to a character card are both considered resources. The survivor takes the token from their space and places it next to their character card. After resolving the card, discard the token unless the card states otherwise. If the token has only a number on it, the survivor searches the exploration deck for the card that has this number and resolves it (see "Resolving Numbered Cards" on page 9). If the token has an enemy image and number on it, the survivor fights this enemy in combat (described later). Survivors spend resources to craft items or to aid in combat (both described later). If it shows a resource icon, that player places the token next to their character card, keeping the feature token as a resource. When performing this action, the survivor chooses one feature, resource, or water source token in their space and resolves the token as follows: Feature Token This is the main way survivors interact with tokens from the map. ![]() ![]() The following sections provide rules for resolving each type of action. The tribe leader makes the final decision, and can go against the wishes of the other survivors unless all other survivors unanimously choose the same survivor to become the new tribe leader. Additionally, if the group needs to make a decision but cannot agree, the tribe leader makes the decision.Īt the end of each night, survivors discuss the upcoming day and decide if they want a different survivor to become the tribe leader. The survivor with the tribe leader token is the tribe leader and takes the first turn each day. John Mollo explored several options for the Imperial generals in The Empire Strikes Back. An earlier variation in use by the year 4 BBY whose chest plate and helmet was identical to that of an Imperial combat driver, minus the faceplate. Officers of the 224th Imperial Armored Division wore the chest plates minus the helmets during the Mimban campaign. ![]() The armor was color-matched to the underlying uniform and there were two basic variations. Some of Minecraft 's monsters, displayed from left to right: a zombie, a spider, an enderman, a creeper, and a skeleton. The in-game time system follows a day and night cycle, with one full cycle lasting for 20 real-time minutes. The world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfields the terrain includes plains, mountains, forests, caves, and bodies of water or lava. The game achieves this by splitting the world data into smaller 16 by 16 sections called "chunks" that are only created or loaded when players are nearby. Due to technical issues when extremely distant locations are reached, however, there is a barrier preventing players from traversing to locations beyond 30 million blocks from the center. There are limits on vertical movement, but Minecraft allows an infinitely large game world to be generated on the horizontal plane. The game world is virtually infinite and procedurally generated as players explore it, using a map seed that is obtained from the system clock at the time of world creation (or manually specified by the player). An example of Minecraft 's procedurally generated terrain, including a village and the default skin Steve The game also contains a material called redstone, which can be used to make primitive mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and logic gates, allowing for the construction of many complex systems. Many commentators have described the game's physics system as unrealistic. Players can "mine" blocks and then place them elsewhere, enabling them to build things. These blocks are arranged in a 3D grid, while players can move freely around the world. The core gameplay revolves around picking up and placing these objects. The game world is composed of rough 3D objects-mainly cubes and fluids, and commonly called "blocks"-representing various materials, such as dirt, stone, ores, tree trunks, water, and lava. Gameplay is in the first-person perspective by default, but players have the option of a third-person perspective. However, there is an achievement system, known as "advancements" in the Java Edition of the game, " trophies" on the PlayStation ports, and "achievements" in Bedrock Edition and the Xbox ports. Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game that has no required goals to accomplish, allowing players a large amount of freedom in choosing how to play the game. Several spin-offs have also been made, including Minecraft: Story Mode, Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Earth, and the most recent release Minecraft Legends. In 2014, Mojang and the Minecraft intellectual property were purchased by Microsoft for US$2.5 billion. The game has also been used in educational environments to teach chemistry, computer-aided design, and computer science. Social media, parodies, adaptations, merchandise, and the annual Minecon conventions played prominent roles in popularizing the game. Minecraft has received critical acclaim, winning several awards and later being cited as one of the greatest video games ever created. The game's large community also offers a wide variety of user-generated content, such as modifications, servers, skins, texture packs, and custom maps, which add new game mechanics and possibilities. Game modes include a survival mode (in which players must acquire resources to build in the world and maintain health) and a creative mode (in which players have unlimited resources and access to flight). Depending on their chosen game mode, players can fight hostile mobs, as well as cooperate with or compete against other players in the same world. In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated, three-dimensional world with virtually infinite terrain and may discover and extract raw materials, craft tools and items, and build structures, earthworks, and machines. Minecraft is the best-selling video game in history, with over 238 million copies sold and nearly 140 million monthly active players as of 2021. Following several early private testing versions, it was first made public in May 2009 before being fully released in November 2011, with Notch stepping down and Jens "Jeb" Bergensten taking over development. The game was created by Markus "Notch" Persson in the Java programming language. Minecraft is a 2011 sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. |
